The Spiritual Exercises of Saint
Ignatius Loyola are offered each year
beginning in the Fall. These exercises require a
commitment of one hour each day of contemplative prayer for about 9
months and a weekly meeting with a director. These exercises are an
extraordinary way of deepening faith. Contact Deacon Brian Kelly at
(203) 373-9753 for more information or to enroll.
Faith Forum is offered on
Tuesday mornings from 10:30 am to 12:00 Noon. This is our 10th
season and we will continue our format of reading and discussing books
on our Catholic Faith. Current events are frequently brought into the
discussion as well as questions of personal interest. It is a time to
learn, laugh a little, explore and encourage spiritual and intellectual
faith development. If at least five or six people would be interested
in an evening version of Faith Forum it will be offered. Please call
the Parish Office at (203) 227-7245 to register for Faith Forum so books can
be ordered.
MEN'S RETREAT GROUP — At
the beginning of each November, a group of men from Saint Luke Parish
travels to the Passionist Fathers' Holy Family Retreat House in West
Hartford for a weekend retreat. This dedicated band of retreatants,
including both married and single, says that there's no better way
to grow in appreciation for your relationship with the Lord and with
others and for your vocation as a Catholic layman in today's world.
If you're a husband, father or grandfather (who typically pass this
wonderful practice of an annual retreat on to their sons and
grandsons!), you'll also find nourishment for your family vocation.
Sound good? Call Finn Charlesworth at 226-3226 for more
information and keep an eye on our
News and Events page during the month of October.
