We're proud of the men and women
of our parish
who serve our country
in the various branches of the armed forces.
Please keep them in your
prayers
along with all those far and near
who put themselves
in harm's way on our behalf.

LtCol D. Scott Brenton,
USAFI
am an F-16 Pilot in the United States Air Force. I am currently
a Lieutenant Colonel and I am the Deputy Operations Group
Commander for the 174th Fighter Wing, Syracuse, New York Air
National Guard. I have been in the military for 22 years. I
began my military career out of ROTC in College (University of
Notre Dame) where I received my BS in Mechanical Engineering. I
proceeded directly to pilot training and I have been flying ever
since that time (which I love). I've received my Master's
Degree in Aeronautical Science and Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle
University, and military degrees from Air Command and Staff
College and Air War College over the years. I have over 4,000
hours in the F-16 including 750 combat hours over Bosnia
(Operation Determined Falcon), Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom),
and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom). I have been
stationed in Korea, Germany, and the United States at various
locations. I was a member of the St. Luke Parish
from the time I was born in 1965, and I participated as an Altar
Boy with (then) Fr. Driscoll from 1976 through 1980). My wife
Renee and I were married in St. Luke Parish in 1991 by Monsignor
Driscoll. I have two daughters, Jennifer (born 1993) and Rachel
(born 1997). We live in Syracuse, New York and we all enjoy the
outdoors up here as much as we can - water-skiing/hiking in the
summer, and snow-skiing in the winter (which we get a lot of!).
The parish has a very special place in my heart, and that of my
family's. We attend mass whenever we can get back to
Connecticut. |

The Diviney Family: (L to R) Andrew,
Brian & Elizabeth, Richard
Andrew Patrick and Richard Lawrence
Twins born in August, 1973
Baptized and received all sacraments at Saint Luke
Monsignor Driscoll's favorite altar boys because their height
and looks
were the same. (Monsignor liked symmetry!)
Both are career officers in the armed forces and visit Saint
Luke whenever they are in town. They hope one day to be around
with their kids for the Parish Picnic for old times' sake. They
and their other 2 siblings were very sorry to hear that Finnegan
had passed away.
