Several
other opportunities for shared prayer exist here at Saint Luke outside
the context of Mass and the celebration of the Sacraments. They
include:
Daily
Rosary — Those who wish to do so remain after the 8:00 am Mass,
Monday through Saturday, to pray the Rosary.
First
Friday Adoration — The Blessed Sacrament usually is exposed on our
altar on the First Friday of every month from 8:30 am until 12:00
Noon for
personal adoration and prayer. (The schedule may change
unexpectedly due to a funeral; you can call the rectory office —
227-7245 — to check ahead of time.)
We invite all who are
free to come on those days to commit themselves to at least 30 minutes
of prayer in the presence of our Eucharistic Lord. The time of
adoration concludes with Midday Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours and
Benediction.
Stations of
the Cross — This traditional prayer-meditation on the Passion, Death
and Resurrection of Jesus is offered on Fridays during Lent at 7:30 in the evening.
Our outdoor
Stations of the Cross Meditation Walk is also available year-round.
Look for the gravel walkway that will take you to the beginning of the
Stations. You'll find prayer cards for your convenience in a metal
mailbox attached to one of the trees.
